I recently bought a Mac mini dual hard drive kit from iFixit and a 60GB OCZ Agility 3 and I need to set the SSD as my OS and use the existing 500GB as normal storage, how would I go about doing this?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Watch the ifixit video and follow their directions.
I obviously have, they only show how to install the SSD and not the OS on to the new SSD.
CarbonCopy and/or SuperDuper!
I was under the impression you could also make a fresh installation by using the internet recovery mode. Will that work on a newly installed SSD?Two ways to install Lion:
(1) Clone the original system the HDD to the SSD. For the recovery partition to be also cloned, use the "restore" functionality provided by the Disk Utilities. You may have to take out both the HDD and the SSD and use another Mac. You can also clone the HDD on a Windows machine.
(2) Make a fresh installation of Lion onto the SSD using a Lion stick from Apple or made by yourself.

Yes! The third way to install Lion is to make use of the internet. But it takes a lot of time and it is infeasible in many regions with slow internet connection. I tried thrice to install Lion through the internet on my new SSD without success.
