Recently I've noticed that my mac mini seems to be slowing down. are they any good utilities for cleaning up a mac? I didnt expect this to be an issue, but maybe it's just me irresponsibly trying out a lot of mac software and not knowing how to totally remove it from the system, and other newbie mistakes like that ;)

Names of utilities would be great, and of course, if there's anything free out there, I'd love to give it a shot.

Any other tips on increasing the performance of my mac?

there are two apps i could recommend
first called app cleaner http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/appcleaner.htmlvery easy to use
second called ONYX http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/onyx.html

increasing performance .....on a mini ....more ram ....ssd.......

Thank you for both of those utilities :) They helped very much. If there's a mod out here, I would recommend starting a sticky of useful mac utilties/tools that apply to everyone because of how they affect system performance.

Also, I feel like 4GB of ram is plenty for me, I do some casual gaming on both Mac and Windows and some basic home video editing. Nothing too complicated.
