I use Flash 8 and it was extremely slow on my G4. When I upgraded to the new 2.0Ghz Mini, I was expecting better performance. For some reason, when switching from any application to Flash 8, the software seems to stall, and then I get the spinning beach ball. This used to last for about 20-30 seconds when I only had 1G ram, but after upgrading to 4G this week, I still get the stall, only this time it lasts about 10-15 seconds.

Is this software related, or is the Mac Mini underpowered when it comes to Flash?

It's really annoying when switching between Flash / Dreamweaver / Photoshop

The problem is flash 8 was for PPC, under Intel it runs in emulation with Rosetta, you need to upgrade to CS3 or CS4 which will run in native Intel code.

After owning a Mac for about a week or so, I've come to the conclusion that OSX sucks for Flash. Windows will run it much more smoothly. My advice is to avoid Flash if you can for Macs and consider getting a Windows machine or partition.

Thanks JeepGuy, hadn't thought about that one! I guess it's time to upgrade!
