Hello,

How many people here use the mac mini for design or web work? what programs do you guys run on it? and what's the performance like?

cheers,

mp

me but I geting a new 8 core mac pro.

it can run google sketchup just ok there are artifacts

but i love the litle guy.

I run EWQLSO on it

1.8GHz iMac G5 here (2GB RAM)
Adobe CS3

it runs fine. I think if you max out the RAM in the mini you will be happy with it for design work. I would go with an iMac or the mac pro if you can afford it. I am assuming you can't since your asking about the mini. I would go for it as long as you get the fastest processor and max out the RAM you should be fine.

If you're using it professionally I wouldn't recommend it – small HD with little expandability options and poor graphics options if you get any video work in. But if you're learning or use it infrequently you should be ok with plenty of RAM.

Hey,

Honestly, the Mac mini was my very first mac computer. All the others before the Mac mini weren't mine.

I did Final Cut Express editing on it, along with Dreamweaver, Photoshop & Illustrator. Now I didn't expect it to run it amazingly, but considering the size and power of the computer, that Mac mini was a monster.

If you choose to get a Mac mini, I don't think you'll regret it.
BTW, I'm using a MacPro now, so you can kinda understand what work ive put it thru.

That's just my 2 cents.
