Thoughts on using a Mac Mini for live sound and home music production?

I make music at home and i need a capable computer with a low price. i have a 13" white macbook (which is not powerful enough) and a 19 white intel imac (that has broken last week). SO! i am mac shopping.
I love the mac mini (2010) because it is cheap and small so i can take it on the road with me when Im doing live sound.

Is it a good idea?
Or a BAD one?

I would think for recoding stuff on the road, you would really want to have something portable. Just because the Mini is small, doesn't mean it's portable. Wear and tear on my video connector on my previous generation mini caused me some issues...and I didn't really move my computer, but I can see how connecting and reconnecting again and again could cause issues with a computer not meant for that purpose.

The Mini is certainly a capable unit for what you want, but it's not portable. Just get yourself a new MacBook.

I would opt for the Macbook pro 15" or if that is too much, the 13". The mini only makes sense to me if you can mount it someplace it will be roadworthy. As mentioned the various connects make it a bit less roadable. Also, what would you do for a monitor? The only roadable monitors I know of, rackable ones, cost a pretty penny.
Though there are a lot of folks that like mounting minis in cars and vans. I suppose you could do something with a 10" or 12" seatback monitor and the mini.
