Mac Mini for Photoshop CS3

1GB ram for photoshop is a little low for ANY system, mac or windows.
When i bought my mini (2ghz C2D) i had the shop (apple prem. reseller who kindly did it free) install a 2Gb chip in the 2nd slot, so i have 2.5Gb ram and photoshop cs3 is pretty decent.
CS3 doesn't really take advantage of GPU THAT much anyway so you'll not suffer from having poor (none) GPU.
Photoshop LOVES memory ... it still doesn't run as fast as i have seen it run on a Win Vista 64 with a load of ram, Fast Gfx and faster processor but thats just logical

Have you tried to upgrade to CS4 with your system. I was hoping to use the Mini since it is such a nice small package. Would be using it for mostly Itunes, Iphoto and some photo editing in Photoshop.
Hoping the 2 ghz unit would be enough of a system with a memory upgrade such as you have undertaken!!

I haven't tried CS4 for a couple of reasons ... 1 it didn't have any new features that i was particularly interested in so i wasn't going to drop a load of cash on it ...2. i am waiting until Snow Leopard and CS5 which will include 64 bit support and gpu acceleration and i'll be running it on an imac..
CS4 will run on the mini with the ram boost ... don't see any reason why it won't
Bump the memory to 2x2gb sticks (3.1 gb available) and it'll be fine with CS3 for most things. If you do a lot of processor intensive work on very large files (e.g., 50 mb, multi-layered, Gaussian blur) then you'll see slow-downs, but it will still work. I used a 1.66 gHz Mini for two years before I built my hackintosh.
I just got a 1.83 ghz Mac mini with 1 gb of memory, and I run Photoshop CS4, and I can honestly say it is so fast. I wouldn't worry too much.
Depends on who you ask. Apple idiot employees tell people that the mini is not a professional machine and can not run Photoshop.

I would like to use it mostly for touching up photos. I would think the best way to say this is.... it would be for a guy who has a 10mp DSLR and would like to enhance or correct his photos..
I am not sure if I even need the 2.0ghz version of the Mini but would rather be safe then sorry...

It will work. The 2,0 GHz procesor has a large cache (4 MB, 2 MB for each core) so that should be plenty for your tasks...
I think i can tell you that a mac mini with 1gb of ram will run CS3 just fine.
I'm on an old sony vaio laptop with a P4 2.0ghz CPU with 512ram and i can run cs2 pretty well.
I'm sure the mini is way more powerful than this laptop but that's just an assumption.
