Mac Mini Freezing After Waking From Sleep

Hey all,

I installed Yosemite on my late 2012 mac mini but I'm experiencing a weird bug - every time I wake it from sleep it freezes up! I can still move the cursor around but I cannot click anything or use any shortcuts on the keyboard. I have to resort to holding down the power button to restart it. I'm using apples trackpad and wireless keyboard.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I am having a similar problem. My mini wakes up and I can move the mouse cursor but cannot click select anything.

I'm having the exact same problem with my late 2012 Mini (i7). I'm using a magic mouse and wired keyboard.

I need my Mac Mini to earn a living. I don't have time for these failures. When my sound stopped working as well as the magic trackpad and the mouse after waking from sleep, I restored to 10.9.5 Mavericks. I'll try loading Yosemite after a few more updated versions have been released in the hopes these issues have been addressed.

I thought is was out of beta testing. I guess not.

I am experiencing the same problem. I booted into safe mode and found that wake from sleep work perfectly fine in safe mode. I quit all the applications that automatically start in normal boot and experience the same problem. Some are reporting that they are doing clean installs and experiencing the problem as well.

I had the problem in PB3, dunno if it is still there in the final build... but the only time it happened to me is if I have my multi-monitor setup on. My main monitor is an ASUS 24" 1080p monitor connected to the HDMI port with the DVI/HDMI adapter. Then I have a 47" Westinghouse 1080p LCD TV connected with a mini displayport to HDMI adaptor on the Thunderbolt port. The 50' HDMI cable runs through the walls to the other wall with the TV.

If I have both monitors running, if the computer sleeps, it becomes unresponsive when trying to wake it. The password screen pops up, but I can't type anything into the field. I have to hard reset with the power button.

I too have a multiple monitor set up. I'm running a hannspree 27 off of the HDMI and a hanns-g 19 running off of the thunderbolt to DVI with a DVI to HDMI adapter. I will try disconnecting the second monitor and see if sleep work better and report back.

Tested it with only one monitor, and still freezing on wake from sleep.

As if I'd "upgrade" down to one monitor from two. I tried turning off the Better Touch Tool and my cursor still appears but cannot be used. I also unplugged my WD backup drive with no success.

I have the Apple USB Optical Super Drive but have not tested it with that unplugged because I restored Mavericks for now. Perhaps someone can experiment with that scenario. If we can determine what is causing the freeze, we will have a closer idea of which Plist to edit.
