Hi

I've just replaced my lower hard drive in a Mac mini server and both are now operational. How do I get them to work as one rather than two separate drives. I need to restore from Time machine but the total content needs to go across both drives as exceeds 500gb. If someone could advise what I need to do to get them to read as one that would be fantastic.

Many thanks in advance.

raid0 stripe but it involves a bit of work. Frankly you should have asked first before you did it.

Do you have 2 standard 500gb hdds in the mini? Are they the same? if they are not the same things get more complicated.

Hi

Thanks for your help, yes they are two standard 500gb drives and are the same. I'd really appreciate it if you could give me some more info on the raid0

Regards
Danny

sure when you build a raid 0 you kill off all info on the drives . so depending upon your other gear setting it up can be tricky. If you have an older mini with a software disc you can boot with the software disc and get into disk utility to make the raid0 .

If you have a 2011 or a 2012 you need to do it from the net or from an external boot drive. (not the time machine) .

So what year is your mini and do you have an external drive not your time machine?
