Hi
I've googled, searched the MacRumors forum but I can't find any definitive answers.

A friend of mine has given me a 1TB for free (lovely) but its 3.5", my question is, would it be possible to fit into a MacMini 2011 ? I had an idea that if the Mini can take 2 x 2.5 surely it could fit 1 x 3.5? Or am I wishing too much?

Sorry if this question has been asked previously (I thought I'd ask before I started ripping my mini apart).

Thanks

Don't think it will easily fit into the mini. Put the hard drive in an external enclosure and use it that way. Free hard drives are nice.

Agreed. For cost/performance effectiveness go with FW800 enclosure.

Hmmm, does anyone make an empty TB disk enclosure yet?

Thanks for the replies everyone, I will look into enclosures :)

TB 3.5" drive sled

FW800 will be alot cheaper than TB as of now...

Oh, I knew they are more expensive, just wasn't sure there were any to be had yet.

I'm willing to spend the difference but I don't have a TB port...yet :)
