Hi

I have just started having this problem, when I open up iphoto and the thumbnails start to load, some of them (at random) have a red tint overlay on the preview, this lasts momentarily, or until I open them to view at full size, then a couple of seconds pass by and they are fine, I also get this problem when scrolling up or down the page viewing the previews / events, red overlay then eventually the appear to be fine, this is annoying to say the least.

I get the same problem using Lightroom 5.

This seemed to have started after the recent Mavericks update.

The machine is a late 2012 mac mini i7 with 16GB Ram connected to a thunderbolt display. Any ideas if could it be something serious?

Cheers Jon

I have the 2.3 i7 with 16 GB RAM and the latest Mavericks update, but have no issues with Lightroom 5. Don't know about iPhoto because I don't use it.

I'm getting it on some previews and websites also tonight, I've repaired permissions, reset PRAM and it still has the red tint !!!!!!

I guess you could try reinstalling OS X? Usually if a problem starts after an update, there is something wrong with the software, not hardware, so a reinstall should fix it.
