I took the hard drive from my intel mini out and now there is a flashing folder with a question mark when I try to boot. I can start from my install disc and from what I can tell the hard drive is the only thing it doesn't detect.

How can I fix this? I've made sure everything is connected. Is there a trick to that ribbon that connects to the back of the hard drive I'm not aware of?

Thanks in advance. This has been driving me crazy.

So you took the hard drive out and now the mini says it can't find the hard drive? You did put the hard drive back in right? I guess I need a bit more information.

i am guessing you put in a new harddrive. if so when you start up the cd to install osx on the new drive click on the pull down options and select disk utility. then use disk utility to format the new drive. at least that is what i think you did.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear. I took out and put back the exact same hard drive that I had in it before. Except now it doesn't seem to detect it. The ribbon that I think connects it came loose and I put it back the way I think it should fit but I'm not sure.

Thank you all for your help, by the way. I truly appreciate it.

I will take some pictures now to show you guys what I mean.
