I just bought an Mac mini and when i connected it to my Bose V35 surround system the screen started to flicker.

I logged on the mini using screen sharing via my iMac and changed some of the setting under midi options. After hours of testing and searching the net i found out that using 2 ch stereo sound work fine - no flicker but when changing to 8 ch -16 bit and 5.1 the screen starts to flicker (this is the setting appele told me to use)

Have talked apple support, they didn't have an answer to the problem. Will call Bose later this week to see if they know anything about this issue but i think the answer will be the same as apples, have anyone here had this problem???

I don't have an answer, but I just wanted to say that I have Bose companion 5 computer speakers and at low volume the sound level fluctuates. It did this on my 2008 aluminum MacBook and now on my 2011 Mac mini. I could never find a fix for it. Clearly there are a few problems with Bose USB audio and macs.

The 2 ch solved the flicker problem.

I previously had a Bose V30 and it was terrible with just about all external components, but the V35 is a vast improvement. Everything seems to work seamlessly - except Mac Mini on 8ch.

I do not recommend Mac + Bose

In fact, I was disappointed in what I thought would be a long term investment in what was supposed to be a great audio brand. The sound is good, build quality is great, but as usual the software part is poorly put together and poorly tested.

Flicker bose and mac mini

I have the latest mac mini 2012 (late) with bose v35, same issue with flickering. Both on latest firmware. Have to call bose!
