I'm looking to hook my cable into a tv tuner that I will hook up to a Mac Mini. The Mini will then be hooked up to my flat screen.

I have Tivo now that allows me to remotely schedule recordings and it is a dual tuner allowing me to record to channels at the same time.

1. Can computer tv tuners record 2 channels at the same time?
2. Can I remotely "log in" to the Mini/tuner and schedule recordings?
3. Can I remotely log in and watch my recordings from another location?
4. Can I remotely access my tuner from another location and watch TV (like a Slingbox)?

Which one do I get? Thanks!

One thread is enough. https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=8931534#post8931534

1. Have you looked into TV tuners and seen in their specifications if they do? There are not many TV tuners for Mac out there. Elgato is the most used, as it seems.

2. If the TV tuner software can schedule recordings, the yes.

3. Yes to logging in, maybe to watching it from somewhere else, as it depends on the whereabouts of you and the Mac Mini and the connection speed you have, and also how big the files are the TV tuner software saves.

4. Depends on the connection and TV tuner.

More specifics are needed.
