Alright, here is my problem

I've got a Mac mini that I use to share iTunes, iPhoto and movies around the home wifi for our various macs and iOS devices.

In system prefs > energy savings, I've got both (display and computer sleeping) set to 'never'

In system prefs privacy/ security I have NOT ticked the 'require pw to login' box, but a pw has been set for the user.

Initially I kept the mini upstairs, and unplugged the display when not using it, then controlling it via logmein if needed. This worked fine and I had no problem with iTunes homesharing or running downloads overnight.

Now the mini has been moved to the living room and is permanently connected to the tv via HDMI. However, when not in use with wireless keyboard or via logmein, it logs out and stops my downloads/ homesharing iTunes.

Anyone know what causes this. Should I just pull out the HDMI cable (as I used to with the display cable upstairs previously) when I am not actually actively using it?

Thank you for reading.

Is it truly logging out, or is it when the screen saver comes on, it is requiring a password to "access" the desktop again?

Yes, that's what it is, not actually logging out. Now that you've mentioned it I realised that there is a difference.

Under General in your System Preferences is an option to turn off password at sleep and/or screen saver.

"Under General in your System Preferences is an option to turn off password at sleep and/or screen saver."

Actually, look for that option in the "Security" pane of System Preferences...
