Hey

I'm considering buying a Mac Mini to use as a Media Center.

Already have MBP + ACD and i use a Apple Wireless Keyboard + Magic Mouse to control it (as i like to keep the MBP on a stand in so it's in the same height as the ACD).

Would it be possible for me to use the keyboard and mouse for both the MBP and Mac Mini?
By this i mean if i can use keyboard + mouse like normal when working on the MBP and then connect them to the Mini when i want to use it to put on a movie or something.

Can i in some way switch the connection from the MBP to the Mini for a minute and then back to the MBP?

I'm asking since if this is possible i won't have to buy another keyboard + mouse for the Mac Mini only!

Hope you understand what i mean! :)

I think Macs don't boot (the Bluetooth helper pops up and you can't get past it) without a keyboard and mouse so it's not possible really. Yes, you could boot it with your KB and mouse connected but I think it's quite hassle to change them all the time.

It is possible, but the constant un-pairing and pairing of those input devices might be too much of a hassle.

Use Teleport to control both your Macs with one set of input devices via the network you have at home, but both Macs have to be running (not sleeping) to take effect of this.

It would be easier to use Screen Sharing to allow the Macbook to control the mini. By default, the mini will look for a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse at boot time, but you can turn this off in System Preferences.

Well i'll be using the ACD with my MBP (like now) - not the Mini.. Will i be able to control be Mini from my MBP in some other way?
