Purchasing my first Mac Mini to use as a home theater device. After doing some looking around, I'm super disappointed with the lack of compact wireless keyboard/mouse options out there.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems the only real choice is the $150 Logitech DiNovo.

Are there any other decent (read cheaper) options out there that are compatible with the mini?

OWC has the Apple Wireless Keyboard for roughly $50 right now...I like to stick OEM for that stuff, don't like fussing with drivers, etc. for 3rd party input devices

Basically any brand keyboard and mouse will work with the Mini, it's just that you give up some specific function keys if you don't buy an Apple brand keyboard, which, in a home theater setting, probably isn't that big a deal.

The other thing to remember is that Bluetooth keyboards/mice do not normally have the same range as a USB wireless, if you're going to be more than a few feet from the Mini.

Siig makes a keyboard with a built in trackball that might work well in that case (I haven't tried it myself) SIIG JK-WR0412-S1. Amazon has it.

Thanks for the replies. If the apple wireless keyboard had a built in track pad and back-lit keys, I'd be all over it. Unfortunately it doesn't, and according to Job's comments, there will be no HTPC keyboard coming from Apple any time in the near future. Apparently Jobs wants us all using ATV2's. :(

Really what I'm looking for is something:

1) Small & wireless
2) With back-lit keys
3) With built in trackpad (or track ball)
4) Compatible with a Mac Mini

Just not a lot of options out there...
