I am looking for a good keyboard recommendation for my mac mini, something that ideally has a back light and has audio / media controls.

The Apple keyboard has those... F7 to F12. But if you want one of those made-for-winblows keyboards... pick a Cherry or a Logitech keyboard. Those are nice to type at. The €10-20 Keyboards are just not worth it: or they have defective keys, or they are stuck, or they are not recognized as keyboards by OSX!.
The Cherry starts at something like 25 €. It is a PeeCee keyboard, with an Insert/PgUp Pg/Dn Home and End keys. Why there is no Insert key in apple's keyboards ?

The Apple keyboard is really nice to type in (The new Alu ones). And now there is a keypad-less version. Thy are 49 € though.
