I'd like to get some idea how the new Mac Mini (Late 2012) video / graphics performance compares to my 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 w/ATI Radeon HD 5770. I've seen the Geekbench scores.

Also, can the Mac Mini (Late 2012) drive 3 monitors -- or perhaps more specifically, can I hang a Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter off an Apple Thunderbolt Display?

Xbench video test composite on the Mac Pro is 154.97.

Quartz Graphics Test 285.61
Line 316.90 21.10 Klines/sec [50% alpha]
Rectangle 343.46 102.54 Krects/sec [50% alpha]
Circle 259.17 21.13 Kcircles/sec [50% alpha]
Bezier 258.17 6.51 Kbeziers/sec [50% alpha]

OpenGL Graphics Test 160.96
Spinning Squares 160.96 204.18 frames/sec

Last year's Mini - 2.7 i7, AMD graphics, 16Gb RAM:

(I've no idea what it means!)

I'm also waiting on confirmation of this. I'm just guessing it will work since the retina 13 MBP has the same HD 4000 GPU and runs its own native 2560x1600 + 2 external 2560x1440 thunderbolts... I'm guessing (hoping) the mini can handle two thunderbolts + 1080p over hdmi

Doesn't the 13 " have 2 TB ports,

I think. The only was to run 3 monitors is one with a USB to DVI adapter

the mini can handle 2 thunderbolts daisy chained, and it can run a 1080p display over hdmi, but I haven't seen any confirmation anywhere on whether it can run the 2 TB + 1080p hdmi all at once... I'd think it could if the rMBP can run 2560x1600 + 2560x1440 + 2560x1440 off the same GPU

I don't know if the Mini can power 3 monitors by itself specifically. But I do know that you cannot plug a MDP->DVI adapter into a TB display directly. The other display won't light up. You have to have another Thunderbolt device between the two for it to work.
