my system specs are:

Late 2014 mac mini.

16GB Ram

1TB Fusion drive.

Recently I decided to completely reformat my fusion drive and pop a clean copy of yosemite on. All seems well. I have power nap enabled and wake for network access turned off.

Recently my mac has been asleep as normal and waking up for power nap activities which is all normal. I sometimes look at the white led to know its ok as it is pulsing which is good. Last night and the night before that, the while light has been pulsing and then last night I saw that it was off. I was still able to wake the computer but noticed this in the console log:

04/04/2015 02:35:41.000 kernel[0]: WARNING: hibernate_page_list_setall skipped 29380 xpmapped pages
04/04/2015 02:35:41.000 kernel[0]: hibernate_page_list_setall preflight pageCount 265101 est comp 45 setfile 556793856 min 2147483648

04/04/2015 02:35:41.000 kernel[0]: [0x5100a5000, 0x80000]

Then later that night I get this:

04/04/2015 02:35:41.000 kernel[0]: kern_open_file_for_direct_io(0) took 9 ms
04/04/2015 02:35:41.000 kernel[0]: Opened file /var/vm/sleepimage, size 2147483648, partition base 0x0, maxio 2000000 ssd 1

04/04/2015 06:35:40.000 kernel[0]: hibernate_setup(0) took 4531 ms

Normally and correct me if I am wrong power nap would cause the computer to wake every hour?

It doesn't explain why my mac goes into like a deep sleep but I am still able to wake it up. There is no process bar or anything to indicate that it has gone into safe sleep.

I have checked the hardware and there are no problems. Disk permissions there are no errors. everything seems ok?

I was wondering if anyone else with a mac mini late 2014 has or have been having the same problem?

Many thanks

This condition might not be a problem. Several newer Mac models offer this particular sleep mode as a feature. Apparently your new Yosemite installation turned Standby Mode on by default. This may have happened because of the combination of the mini's portable components and the fact that it boots from an SSD. I encountered a similar change on a 2012 Fusion Drive mini after my Mavericks upgrade in 2013. After some research, I decided to leave things as they were.

Perhaps someone else can find an issue in your console log. If not, I would not worry about it. You can control this feature if you wish.

Thanks for the advice.

It appears you are correct. Thats something in my whole time using a mac I have never seen before!

So many thanks again for helping out.
