Hi!
today received my Mac Mini M1. I have a problem.
MacOS Big Sur detects the LG 48CX as a 72 "screen "LG TV SSCR" ...
Also, if I use "scaling" in resolution, it tells me that my resolution is 5K ...
See attached photos.
I tested with my LG 65C9 but i got the same issues.

Is it an software bug present on M1 models to detect certains displays maybe? Does it really influence me in the real use? Any suggestion? Can they try this on your TVs/Monitors?
Thank you!

Your Mac is working as supposed all of them have this behavior and it is an expected behavior, it is not a problem: if you check the screen resolution tab in the bout this Mac it displays your screen supported resolution. The information that states the resolution of your ui (user interface) is the scaling you selected which is 2560x1440 that’s the aspect you selected, however the os uses a canvas which is 2x for hidpi. Hidpi uses 4 pixels for each displayed pixel in order to provide higher definition text that is, it scales as if it were 2560x1440 but in reality is using a canvas of 5120x2880.

Regarding the wrong size: it is not getting edid info right, check your tv input is set as computer and image in gaming mode, these setting provide the highest compatibility with macOS, I have a LG oled 55 and works great with these settings.
