I recently bought a XPG SSD (SX6000 Pro 1Tb) and an Orico case, to use as an external SSD drive. When I plug it into my Mac Mini (M1), it doesn't detect it. It doesn't even appear in Disk Utility.
I tried in an older Mac with Mojave, and it doesn't recognize either. I tried in another Mac (that I don't know the OS version) and it recognized it.
Has anyone had a similar problem?

It should recognize but then again..I have a 2014 Mac mini and used this method from the youtube video. I also have file vault off and used Sonnet box. Maybe the same restrictions is preventing your orico case from being recognized. You may have to disable the System Integrity Protection built into programing. I found it by finding purge-wrangler and it tells you using recovery mode.

It could be the enclosure -- somehow incompatible with m1 Macs or with Big Sur.

It could the drive controller chip (in the enclosure) -- same reasons as above.

It could even be the drive itself -- something to do with firmware, etc.

I'd try another enclosure as "the first step"...
(Unless you've used the Orico enclosure with another drive, and it worked ok beforehand...)

It's the internal controller of the XPG SSD. It's not compatible(not supported) by M1 Macs.

It started working after I left it plugged in for a long time. But the read/write speeds are low. 350MB/s and 140MB/s.

I laready tried 4 different cables, and the results are the same. I contacted Orico and ADATA, to see if they have a solution.
