Hello everyone!

I purchased a new Mac mini M1 yesterday and was really excited to use it - just to find out that the maximum retina resolution I can choose is 2560x1400 (x2) compared to 3008x1692 (x2) on my "old" 2018 Intel Mac mini:

Do you have an explanation as to why I can't choose 3008x1692 anymore?

Cheers,
Daniel

Check the options after you hold the Option key and click Scaled (Skaliert)?

I found that 3008x1692 is only available when the display is connected via USB-C/DP. With HDMI that option is not available.

@antipodean Thank you, I just ordered a USB-C to Displayport-Adapter

@BrianBaughn I did not to be honest since I didn't expect the latest and greatest of Apple to be less capable than my old Mac mini (connected to the same monitor with the same HDMI-cable):
