I have searched a reply to this to no avail.

In my home I have both a good WiFi signal from my router (both 5Ghz and 2.4) but also a 100MBit cabled connection.

In my experience the former can be faster but from times to times it glitches while the latter is slower but more reliable.

If I configured both and kept the M1 mini connected with both, would the OS be able to switch to the faster port dynamically and/or use both connections to get faster connections?

Thanks a lot.

If you were to use both network ports, you would maintain connectivity if in the case the wireless became laggy or fraught with collisions.

If you do select the wireless, make sure your M1 chooses the 5GHz only due to issues with interference of bluetooth devices operating in the 2.4Ghz area.

As a rule for my network connections, I prefer to choose the wired LAN over WiFi any day, any time.

My M1 is on Ethernet only (1GBps) and I have WiFi turned off.

I use Wifi only for those devices that don't have Ethernet connection (iPad Pro, Chromebook, 12" rMB for daily bedside laptop, etc).

Thank you very much. This makes a lot of sense. The Mini would be connected to a gigabit switch which also has my NAS which I use also as Timemachine so probably will follow your advice and only use the wired connection (BTW I also have a giga network, not 100Mbps as I wrongly stated).
