Very strange issue here... whenever the Displays system settings pane is active and in the foreground, my Wi-Fi connection starts playing up. Literally within a couple of seconds of loading the Displays panel up, internet connectivity will drop off. I can test by running pings in Terminal, and they will go slow or timeout. Then within a few seconds of closing or putting the Displays pane into the background, internet connectivity comes back, and pings go back to consistently fast speeds.

Can anyone else confirm this odd behaviour? I'm running the RC of macOS Ventura 13.3 (in an attempt to fix other Wi-Fi issues).

I have an M2 Mac Mini on Ventura 13.3 beta 4 release candidate so I tested this using speedtest.net to check whether the speed dropped off when I open the Displays System Setting in the foreground. I did not see any DL or UL speed dropoffs.

Thanks for checking. I'm using (free) Pingr to monitor my ping times/connection. It shows the change instantly.

I'm now running Beta 1 of Venture 13.4 and there's been no improvement for me unfortunately.

Using my router's default configuration I couldn't get my Mac mini M2 to stay connected to the 5GHz network or at full-speed at all. Changing the 5GHz Wi-Fi channel to 44 allows full-speed connection and Ping times of 10-15ms. But, whenever I access AirDrop in the sidebar of a Finder window, or the Displays system settings pane, the connection completely drops out (no internet) until those windows are closed (or made inactive).
