I have searched the internet for a detailed list of (lower) screen resolutions supported by the M4 Mac Mini. I havn’t found any detailed lists so far. Can anyone that have an M4 Mac Mini please take a screen shot of low resolution settings and post, or copy/paste a list?

I’m aiming for a M4 mini and I’m new to Mac. I’d like to connect it to my (very) old CRT projector with a HDMI cable.

I need resolutions around 576p (which I think is 720*576@50Hz). I guess 800*600 @50Hz would work as well. 480p could work. But the only settings I’ve seen are much higher.

I have the M4 Pro Mac mini. When I set Displays under Settings to show all resolutions it includes 1024 x 576 and 1024 x 576 (HiDPI). The standard M4 mini might be different though.

Resolutions displayed in control panel are dependent on the monitor connected to the computer. Perhaps someone with a similar projector reads this post.
FWIW resolutions my monitor: Samsung HD. With another monitor resolution displayed are different

Correct, when I look at the resolutions on my M4 connected to a 4K display and a 3440x1440 display, I see no 576 resolutions available.

My projector doesn’t have pixels. (It’s a CRT. From the 90:s.) I don’t think it gives any information to the computer. It has an analog VGA/RGB input and I use a HDMI-to-VGA converter in between. I can pretty much feed it with any resolution I like, though resolutions around 576p 50Hz or 480p 60Hz works the best. I read somewhere that there are hidden, or extended, settings in the advanced settings of the MacOS. With a Windows PC I can set the resolution quite freely.

Thanks! So if MacOS doesn’t have the resolutions I need, I just download BetterDisplay (trying the free wersion first).

I am kind of positive that macOS will see your VGA correctly and give you some of those above options. And you are right, BetterDisplay can fully unlock these if somehow macOS refuses to.
