I have older Mac Pro Spring 2008 3.2 Ghz w/36 Mb memory and 3 drive bays being used for samples and projects with an external esata Raid 5. it also has UA Octo Sparc Card installed and it is connected to UA Apollo Interface via FireWire 800. All my DAW software is installed on the old Mac Pro but maybe i could move just the Daws to Mac Mini and still take advantage of Octo card on a closed network?

is there any benefit to purchasing a Mac mini with thunderbolt and then getting thunderbolt option card for UA Apollo and some how daisy chain or network my Mac Pro tower to the Mac Mini and the Apollo on some kind of network? Seems like for $599 that would be the cheapest way to get access to Thunderbolt so I can improve speed for audio processing and transfers? I'm taking a course and am working on 24 track mixes with lots of plugins so I want to improve processing capability.Thoughts?

I know I need to wait for the new Mac Pro but isn't this a cheap temp fix to boost Processing power for Audio and video?

:)
