Hello--I just recently won a Mac Mini Mid 2007 off of Cowboom. Specs are 1.83GHz 4GB 200GB. It has no OS included--which leads me to believe they have either wiped the HD or installed a new one. Either way I have no OS. I have plans to use this with my TV as a "media center". I'm going to use the DVD to play--dvd's. I have an extensive music catalog I'd like to transfer on as well. I am also going to use this for watching Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime movies/tv shows.

My question--main one at least--is can I purchase the 29$ Snow Leopard upgrade and install the DVD onto my newly acquired Mini. I've been told by some that I need to install 10.4--others say its a waste of time and money. So I guess that is the big one--Can I just buy a 29$ copy of Snow Leopard and pop it onto the mini.

Keep in mind--this mini is not going to be used for anything big--just the idea listed above--internet use--maybe some Office Applications. I'm not looking to run anything large off of this Mac.

Thank you in advance for your guidance/assistance. I'm working with a limited budget here, so any help in that dept is also appreciated!!!!
