I, for the life of me, cannot get the Mac Mini to force the 27" iMac into Target Display Mode. I have a 36" Male MiniDP to Male MiniDP cable from Monoprice.com and it will not work at all. I'm kinda stumped as to why it won't work and I don't really "feel" like spending $30 on the Belkin cable as the Monoprice is the exact same cable just shorter and only $6.

Has anyone had any luck getting this to work? Thanks

Your phrasing is strange to me, in that I don't know any way to have the mini force the iMac to do anything.

As I understand it, you plug the two machines together and hit Command-F2 on the iMac to make it switch to the mini. If that doesn't work, I'd swap ends on the cable and try again.

Alas, due to the screen issues on the new iMacs (and the previous iMacs, and possibly the ones before those), I don't own one yet.
