Quick question i was looking to purchase a mac mini. The question i have is i have an old dvi-vga adapter from a videocard and was wondering if i connect this to the dvi output on the mini display adapter will it work with a vga cable?

well i was watching some people setup there mac mini's and they used those adapters and i watched the guy from the t4show michael manna setup his mini for home theatre using a hdmi adapter like the vga one and they worked all is on youtube

Probably, but there's only one way to know for sure. If it doesn't work, just buy a mini dvi to vga adapter.

On 2009 mini's : no. The mini-DVI (or Mini Displayport ) - DVI adapter is one for DVI-D and your DVI-VGA adapter is a DVI-I one. You will need a Mini-DVI - VGA adapter. ( or the Mini Displayport - VGA alternative. )

On pre 2009 : yes. There is a DVI-I connector on it so you can use your adapter.
