Is my Mac Mini Intel C2D 1.83ghz Optical drive the same with my 15" non-uni Macbook pro?Do they have the same mounting?

Thank you very much in advance.

Thanks for the quick reply guys, as far as what the "google" say,its quite the same since they have same voltage and amperage..but im just a bit doubtful if it will really fit on the mini's mounting(unless I will open both and see for myself:D)

FYI: I don't recall which Macs this applies to, but Apple used to use PATA optical drives and recently switched to SATA.

is the mounting of the PATA from SATA diff?I mean is it the same case with the HDD from PATA (IDE) to SATA?

thanks

Sorry, I don't have any idea. You could try looking at the teardowns that iFixit.com does and see if you can determine if there's a difference for the models you're interested in.

15" MBP non-uni's optical drive(on top) is a bit thinner/slimmer than the mini's(below)..it has the same mounting though.

I unserstand Mac notebooks mostly have 9.5mm SD's and Mini's and iMacs have 12.5 or 12-7mm (can't remember which) SD's.

Don't know if this helps.:)
