Mac Mini Power Usage

I know a lot of people on here are using Mac Mini's for their home theatre set up. My question do most of you have them on all the time, as in idling, but not sleeping?

For those that do, do you think this uses a lot of power leaving it on 24/7?

Also, do you think its good for the Mac Mini to be on all the time like that, or could it potentially lead to it dying sooner?

The hardware is almost the same as the MBP, so I'd assume that it'd use the same amount of power.

My mini is dedicated as a Plex Box, I don't need it to be on all the time, I just sleep it.

Machines can run 24/7 for years. I have a small homebrewed server machine that is on all the time.
