I have a Mac Mini Core Duo. I decided it to take it with me on a 2-day journey to my home town. When I plugged the monitor, mouse, keyboard and the adaptor in to mini and started it, i was shock. Starting the OS, I saw that the icons on the dock were gone and the default MAC OS X icons were there. The Music, Photos and Movies folders in the Finder are empty, no playlists in the iTunes, some installed Applications and so on. Some folders, however, remained unchanged. I have the same free space, as as the time I took it with me. So the information is there.

It sounds like you logged in under a different account.

Could this happen from renaming the Home or Computer Folder ? I think i have renamed it, but I can't clearly remember whether I did it before taking it from home or after I turned the mini on today.
