Hi everyone.

On Thursday of last week I purchased an Apple Mac Mini computer on Amazon.com.

I know Apple released a new Mac Mini last week.

Am I eligible for an upgrade since I purchased within 14 days? The model I purchased was Apple Mac Mini MC270LL/A.

Any ideas?

I don't have a definite answer, and your best bet for one is to contact someone affiliated with Apple. Reading the information here, it seems like your machine will be eligible as long as you bought it through an authorized reseller for Apple products. You won't really know, though, until you've tried it for yourself :) it couldn't hurt.

I'm assuming that you mean an upgrade to the newer Mac mini, not an upgrade to Lion, right?

Had you bought directly from Apple, you would be able to exchange for the newer mini, probably get $100 back as well. Since you bought from Amazon, you'll need to check to see what Amazon's return policy is. Also, if you bought with a credit card, check to see if it has a "buyer's protection" plan.

EDIT - the post above has good advice.

I bought my old mini 28 days ago from amazon, I just returned it full credit.

Whoops, I didn't even think that the OP could've meant an upgrade to a new machine, not just the OS. You wouldn't be able to return the computer to Apple, for obvious reasons, but you could probably return it to Amazon since you're within the return period and put that money toward a new mini.
