You haven't stated your needs, so its difficult to say which model would work the best.

My $.02, is if you don't need a TB of storage then the speed increase by using the SSD is a no brainer. As for the memory most people don't need 16GB of ram, though it all depends on how you'll be using the computer.

I would recommend picking up your own SSD, installing it, reinstalling the OS, and then converting that internal drive into your very own external HDD. This is what I did in the past month and my mac mini is super quick. 2.3 Ghz i7 with 16 GB of ram and 500 GB SSD. Then the 1TB was put in USB 3.0 enclosure and its really quick!

You going to want SSDs sooner or later. If you're comfortable putting in your own, buy without. You want apple to put it in, buy it now.

I watch a youtube on install SSD drive look hard and maybe i get SSD and have apple put it in.Do all mac mini i5 and i5 come with boost?i forgot to tell you i plan to do some programming with my mac mini.

Yes, turbo boost is a property of the Intel chip, not Apple. You can look up the specific chip on Intel's website and it'll tell you all about it

It's really not that hard.

I doubt that Apple is willing to install a thrid market SSD into the mini,
if they do it, it will likely cost you more than $100.

Just get the proper tools (2mm hex, Torx6 and 8, spudger) and don't rush, nothing will happen :)

i was thinking of waiting forthe new mac mini or a macbook air 13.3:)

i got sometime ti think about it.

That's exactly what I did except I put in a 250GB Samsung EVO ssd, and am extremely pleased with the result. Fortunately I bought it on a weekend when I got 5x Reward zone points so it was effectively $720 instead of $800.
