I can only answer one of your questions.

No it will not. Memory may cause problems, but if it does, you can try taking it out and that solves lots of problems with most macs including mini.

well, what i'm asking is, will there be a ram slot just like the laptop / imac which is easily accessible by removing 1 or 2 screws.

if not, i guess i will void the warrenty by opening the case of mac mini?

By opening the mini will not void the warranty.. if you do crack the plastic housing that won't be covered by the year warranty.. The intel mini is little harder to do on the Ram upgrade but still doable by the user   ..

If your still scared doing the Ram upgrade on the mini then you could take it to Apple store W/ third party Ram and pay a small fee for install

The first step is opening the case, and many people have discussed different methods for doing it. I have tried several of them, and I can tell you that popping it open with a putty knife is the quickest, easiest, and safest. The trick is to get the thinnest, most flexible putty knife that you can find. I have a personal favorite, which I bought at Home Depot for less than $2. It is the Goodell 1 1/4" Flex. It can be found in the paint department.

Ive swapped the memory in my G4 mini, but not the intel. As far as getting them open though, I believe they are nearly the same, and that is 99.9 percent of the job. Actually getting the Ram in there is the easy part. Just be careful with the plastic tabs (there are a lot of them) and take your time. But it certainly is doable and fairly straightforward. Here is a link to a new intel Mini take apart, it has some fantastic hi-res images. Good luck!

The intel mini and the G4 mini are completely different as far as installing ram goes.
On the intel mini you must remove the hard drive and optical drive to access the ram, on the G4 you only need to remove the casing to access the ram.
Also note that the mini uses SODIMM's (Laptop Ram), not full sized ram like the G4 mini

i upgraded my ram in my mini and i have a intel and it was easy, had no problems what so ever, just poped the case off, moved the airport and other thing out way, took the 4 screws out, flipped the case over holding the hdd and stuff on and there it is.
