I have an older 2009 Mac Mini. I primarily use Windows bootcamp on it for work. Today it randomly starting shutting down. Sometimes after 30 seconds, other times after 5-10 mins. I reset the pram which didn't seem to do much. I then noticed the Mac Mini was getting really hot, so I downloaded smcfancontrol. It shows my rpm at "0". I'm assuming this means my fan isn't turning on at all, causing my system to overheat then shutting itself down.

Is there any options to try and fix this, or do I need to buy a new fan and get it repaired?

Any help with this issue would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

If you do have an Apple Store nearby this will probably be a good one to leave to them.

The markup on fans through these sites are terrible -- I had that fan replaced by Apple for ~$70 total including labor a few years back.
