I don't think there's any exact answer to that right now.. But i'm waiting as well..

there are already a gazillion threads on refresh. No one knows outside of Apple and the people that do know keep their mouths shut to avoid the wrath of management. Apple store people have no information either.

Seems like they just did a refresh on the mini not that long ago. Didn't they change the case and add HDMI?

Yup, about 8 months ago.

maybe the buyers guide is helpful to get an idea how often they refresh?

Apple's main mini page still says "Introducing the new Mac mini." 8 months after the current model's release. I'd guess they won't be doing anything new for a while.

One would hope that they'd update it by the middle of the year, but they did take about 19 months between the 07 and the early 09 Mac Minis, so if that's anything to go by, though unlikely it's possible the next update could be as late as early next year.
