Mac Mini repeated crashes due to permissions?

Gday,

Hoping someone can help

I have a Mac Mini 2011 16gb RAM 2.3ghz i5, that has a samsung 128gb SSD. iTunes 11.1.1 and OS X 10.8.5

Normal operation its pretty fast but every few days it grinds to a standstill ie It can take 2-3 minutes just to switch to another app! I have to shutdown the computer and restart.

If I run a repair on disk permissions every few days it seems to prevent this from happening, and I get a whole heap of itunes permissions errors.

Any idea what is causing this and how to permanently fix it?

I dont think it happened before I installed the SSD drive but I cant be sure....
