My Mac Mini has been running slow since I upgraded to Leopard several months ago. It is not Snow Leopard. My Mac Mini is running software version 10.5.8 and my processor is a 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4 with 512 MB RAM. Am I running slow since my Mac Mini is intel? Should I switch it back to Tiger or is there any other suggestions you can make. I have run the disk utility and have run the repair permissions. The computer is especially slow on Safari where it is faster on my MacBook pro. Thanks.

You could try resetting safari and also rebooting your router. Also try Firefox and see if this is any better.

I would be interested to see what your results are as I have the same Mini and was thinking about getting Leopard for it.
If it does not improve performance, I will save the money and apply it toward getting a new Mini instead.

first no your mini is no intel pc its a powerpc g4 processor inside

and it will run leopard , yes ,but better stick with tiger

as i have the same processor , and a fast 7200rpm harddrive and 1gb ram and a 64mb graphics in my eMac , but despite the better configuration leopard slowed down everything noticable ,

(leopard boots faster yes, but after booting i want speed too )
most people get used to the slower working
, because they like to have leopard ,
but in reality tiger will run far better,
so i gone back to tiger and i`m happy as i have the speed back

so you got two options
1st if you want leopard ,you need a 7200rpm harddrive as the standard inside the mini is a 5400rpm laptop harddrive 2,5 inch which slws down things and max out the ram to 1gb
(1gb is max the mini 1.42 supports according every mac .com )
2nd going back to tiger
but even under tiger i recommend to upgrade to 1gb
