Hi all-

I'm noticing some "strange" behavior when I try to compile and run pretty simple projects under Xcode 4.2. Sometimes hitting the 'run' button builds quickly and runs.. other times the beachball spins for about 5-10 seconds before it runs.

Is this normal performance on the mac mini and/or xcode?

I'm running my mini with an SSD and 16GB of RAM.

thanks.

I've had some odd (seemingly intermittent) behavior with XCode. Sometimes I just need to restart the thing. If restarting XCode doesn't help post back with some more details. Does the problem always happen when you do X, does the problem happen in all projects or just project Y?

It's definitely not the Mac Minis Performance. I got no problems running Xcode with not too complicated projects on my 3 year old MacBook Pro. Just restart Xcode, this should solve the issue.

xcode 4.2 is a few versions old now. i know a couple of recent updates were stability/bug related.

current version is 4.3.2 for lion... i'd try and update xcode to see if the problem continues.

Thanks for the answers all.

I updated to 4.3.2, but same issue. It seems that every THIRD attempt to "Run" results in a much slower start up time.. Xcode does nothing for 2-3 seconds then beach balls for 2-3 seconds. then runs.

Any other ideas? I've rebooted, exited X-Code, restarted, etc.
