Hi all,

I am thinking of buying a used Mac Mini to run as a server for files, streaming audio, videos, vnc etc. What kind of specs would be appropriate for a Mac Mini and is it worth buying since it seems like the line will be discontinued in the near future.

I'd honestly just look at a good NAS from QNAP or Synology. They are packaged up very well and will be supported for years with free if you buy one. File serving and media content are very well catered for and there are a ton of apps that you can get for them too - all officially through the management interface. Unless you specifically need Mac OS server to manage Apple devices I don't see the point when a NAS would do a much better job these days.
