Ok guys i have just sold my Powerbook G4 for £300 and no am going to purchase a mac mini this is what i was thinking:

Mac mini in the coner of my room conected to a monitor via DVI
But then a converter to HDMI to connect to a HD TV i hope to get for christmas. That way i can use plex and the compuetr from the couch. but this setup will be cool cuz i can torrent from my monitor and then watch the films on the TV. Also i will get the EyeTV Hybrid for watching TV.

So what do you think? im only 12 so i am trying to save this under a year. (i have been building computer and selling them)

Thanks guys,
Luke

I've heard good thing for a Mini based meet center, I use the Apple TV myself, but the Mini is just great for it(from what I understand)

Hi Luke

Should work great however the DVI output from the Mac won't have sound. So if you want your TV to have sound make sure the HDMI converter has an audio input, so it should have two inputs, one for DVI and one for Audio, analogue or digital.

I've had a Mac Mini and EyeTV for some time and it works great, you'll have loads of fun.

I have a similar configuration that replaced a Windows Media Center, PC in our bedroom. Works very well.
