Mac mini sound to onkyo 616

Hi all I have just bought a mini from somebody on AV forums and I have sorted the picture using dvi to hdmi adaptor but the sound still comes from the mini. How can I sort it so I get the sound from the amp. I know I won't get hd audio but I want the best I can at the moment.
I have a 1tb hard drive attached so I will be using the mini to download films and stream etc.
