Just bought an OWC 240GB 6G SSD drive. Mid 2011 Mac Mini with the 5400rpm drive in it. Going to remove the 5400 rpm drive completely after installing SSD.
1) The plan is to hook up the SSD externally (USB enclosure from OWC) and clone it with Carbon Copy Cloner.
Question 1) Once it is cloned is there a way to test the external drive (SSD Drive) to make sure that when I install it it will work? The last thing I would want to do is install it and it won't even boot. I realize if it is not hooked up correctly it may not work, but assuming it is I would love to pre test it.
Side question -
Currently it has 8GB memory. Any real reason to go to 16GB (meaning I would have to scrap both 4GB modules)? Uses are mail, internet, iPhoto, word.
