Any Mac Mini Stack Classic users out there?

For the original Mini size, the v3 stack holds fw800, Sarta drive.
What is your experience? Do drives still run hot and die?

I have a late 2009 MM 2.53 with a SSD and 7200rpm 750 GB.
The machine sits mostly idle. It's my imaging and MDM machine for our house. I'm debating changing my backup strategy and backup my cMP to a stack like this (via server app / time machine server).

Have a 2.26ghz running with an old Acomdata stacker. They do run hot, and took an old PATA drive but efficient. Too bad Acomdata went out of business.

Do you keep the HD on top of under the MM?

Anyone else?
I will have (like on the MM) rubber feet as little spacers.

I have the Newer Tech stacks. They both run well. I've had one for about 7 years with the same drive and, touch wood, zero issues. This is on my 2008 mini that uses the same footprint.
