I'm thinking about buying a 2.26 Mac Mini with 160gb HD. I have an iOmega 1TB usb drive that I use to backupmy PC files.

My intention is to use the HD on the Mini for applications and the iOmega USB for data such as photos and MS office files.

Do you think that using a USB HD will noticeably slow down my processing on the Mini?

Do i need to reformat the USB HD so that it can store Mac Mini data files (from iLife & iWork) ?

Thanks
