I have the latest version of the mini, configured with an intel core 2 duo 2 ghz processor and upgraded to 4 gigs of ram. I bought a mini-dvi to vga cable adapter from apple to use with my monitor. I turned the mini off, manually switched my usb keyboard and mouse and the vga monitor to my pc, did some work (spent about 10 minutes on the pc), and then turned the pc off and manually switched all of the cables back to the mini. When I turned the mini on the display seemed really off. I check in system preferences under display and saw some major changes. Before this problem I had the resolution set at 1024 x 768 (same as on my pc), but now that resolution isn't available on my list. instead it's set at 1280 x 960, and it recognized the display as "P w17e" instead of HP w17e, as it did before.

I've tried resetting both the SMC and PMU (I believe resetting the PMU also resets the PRAM) and the problem has not been fixed. The monitor works just fine on my PC still.

This leads me to believe my problem lies either in my converter cable, or worse a problem with my logic board.

I've googled this issue as much as I could and haven't found a solution that works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Matt
