Mac Mini switching from 1080p to 1080i

Hey Guys,

My 2011 Mac Mini regularly switches back to 1080i from 1080p. I have it hooked up to the latest 51” samsung plasma via hdmi and a new pioneer receiver.

Any suggestions??

if it's at all possible, hook up the mini directly to the display long enough to see if the issue goes away.

if it does, there could be a few issues going on here. the most likely is an hdcp issue with the receiver manufacturer.

if it continues, it could be that there is an issue with hdcp on your mini.

it is possible, but unlikely that 1 of your hdmi cables is defective.

Panels can't display 1080i, so you end up with 1080P regardless.
