Mac Mini Temp

Hi. I use my Mac Mini Core Solo constantly and it is on from 8:30AM-1:00AM is probably a fair estimate. (It starts up/shuts down on it self) Anyway, If I reach under my desk, I can feel it getting pretty hot. (Its about a good inch and a half of thick wood) I'm getting worried about leaving it on so much and it over heating. Anyway, back to my topic. Is there a way to measure the CPU/Internal Temp? I know not all Macs have a gauge in them but I installed iStat Pro in Dashboard and its not showing a reading for the temp. Is there one in the Core Colo Mini? If so, why isn't it showing up? Do you think I should be worried about it, with the desk getting hot and all? Any help appreciated.

You shouldn't be worried; Macs will power down before the reach temperatures that could damage any internal components.

You could try miniStat2

Core Duo Temp 2 (or TemperatureMonitor) should both give you at least the core temperature of the processor. This doesn't really tell you how hot the guts of the Mini are getting, but it's a general clue as to how warm the hottest part is.

Search VersionTracker for either.

iStat Pro doesn't work on my macbook, but those two do

Thanks. My CPU Temp is currently around 60 Celsius, which I believe converts into 140F. So, is that normal?

You're fine. Mine runs in the low 70's pretty much all the time - mostly 'cause I'm constantly folding or using Handbrake.
