What is the average temperature a mac mini 2006 runs at?

Hi,

I've just upgraded my 2006 Core Duo Mac Mini to a Core 2 Duo (first CPU upgrade ever by the way, so thanks to the user here "Intell") and i have downloaded a widget for my dashboard called iStat and that is saying that my CPU is running around 60c, is this normal? I don't know much about cpu temperatures but 60c for a computer seems high to me?

Hope you can reassure me!

Notebook CPUs like yours can withhold a temperature of up to 105° C, thus 60° C is normal.

Have a look at Activity Monitor (Applications / Utilities /) and select All Processes and sort by CPU to see what the culprit may be.
Also check the "System Memory" tab to see what your "Page ins:", "Page outs:" and "Swap used:" are.

My 1,1 Mini has a 2.0Ghz C2D in it. It does idle a bit hot, mostly because of the poor heatsink grease job I did on it. But it idles around 150F and can reach 210F under a heavy load before it starts to throttle itself. Like a said before, these temperatures are a bit higher then normal due to the poor grease job.
